Schumann Lab Hosts the First London Proteoglycan Meeting

12 June 2024

On 7th June, the lab hosted the first London Proteoglycan Meeting, with >40 attendees from the Crick, Imperial College London, UCL and King's College London and external guests Cathy Merry (Nottingham), Astrid Walrant (Sorbonne) and Jerry Turnbull (Keele). We had fascinating lectures from all career stages, ranging from the development of chemical tools to structural biology of GAG-binding proteins and evolution, development and extracellular matrix biology. We thank the Crick Partner Universities Networking fund for generous funding and are looking forward to the next meeting in summer 2025!

From our lab, Mia presented her fantastic results on neurotrophic signalling, while Himanshi talked about tool development to probe xylosyltransferase activity.

PhD student Mia presenting her research on neurotrophic signalling

Postdoc Himanshi sharing her research on xylosyltransferases

Astrid Walrant (Sorbonne) bringing her exciting work to the Crick

Fruitful post-talks discussions over drinks!
