Sophie studied Chemistry at Imperial College London and was awarded an MSci in 2022. She joined the Schumann Lab for her Masters project where she used Bump-and-Hole engineering to study a specific glycosyltransferase implicated in colorectal cancer.Â
In Summer 2022, she returned as a joint PhD student working with the Epithelial Cell Interactions Lab at the Francis Crick Institute. In her PhD, she will use Drosophila melanogaster as a model system to study the glycoproteome and its implication in human diseases.
