Saskia Pieters
PhD Student
Saskia obtained a BSc in Chemistry and Molecular Cell Biology at University College Utrecht. She continued with her MSc in Chemical Biology at Leiden University, where she worked on developing biochemical assays to study PROTAC-mediated degradation of glycosyltransferases and glycosidases.
She joined the Schumann lab in 2024 as part of the GLYCO-N Marie Curie network. As part of this international network, her research will focus on using chemical precision tools to understand N-glycosylation in viruses and their hosts.
