Freya Hoddle

PhD Student

Freya completed her MSci degree in Natural Sciences Specialising in Chemistry at the University of York, graduating in 2023. Her Master’s research project was undertaken in the Davies Lab in the York Structural Biology Laboratory, where she worked on the characterisation of novel activity-based probes and their interaction with specific glycosidases.

In 2023 Freya began her PhD in the Schumann Lab at the Francis Crick institute. Her project aims to delineate the specific functions and activities of GalNAc-transferase enzymes that initiate O-glycosylation in the Golgi, with a focus on using novel chemical 'precision tools' in conjunction with a variety of imaging techniques.
